This guided city walk invites you to discover Geneva from an unusual perspective. The focus is not on classic city history, but on precise observation and discovery in the everyday life of the city...

We'll be moving through the city centre, visiting well-known spots as well as less-noticed alleyways. In doing so, we'll consciously focus on details on facades, on the ground or in the surrounding area that are easily overlooked.

The tour focuses on personal discovery. For this reason, little explanatory content is provided – the immediate experience of the city and the conscious perception of its small peculiarities are more important.

  • Lake Geneva and the Jet d'Eau (if operational) and the National Monument
  • The famous Flower Clock of Geneva and the garden surrounding it
  • Shopping districts, historic squares, fountains and city walls
  • Collège Calvin and how the Reformation spread through education
  • Place du Bourg-de-Four 
  • Saint-Pierre Cathedral and the Calvin Auditorium
  • the Geneva Town Hall, the birthplace of the Red Cross
  • The International Monument to the Reformation
Practical Notes

During the tour of Geneva's Old Town, we will partly walk uphill over cobblestone streets and climb some steps. During the walk, we will mainly stay outdoors; if the cathedral is open, we will also visit it inside.
